How To Run a Local - Labour Relations ~ Calgary

  • Courtyard Marriot Calgary Airport 2500 48 Avenue NE Calgary, AB Canada (map)

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: January 15, 2019

In this workshop, Local Executives and District Representatives will develop a deeper understanding of the dispute resolution and Duty to Accommodate processes through two interactive scenarios. In the first scenario, participants will explore the Employer investigation meeting process, including the Local’s role and UNA’s legal obligations in advocating for members. This scenario will then take us through the process of filing and resolving a grievance. Scenario two will explore the Employer’s Duty to Accommodate and will walk participants through the typical issues that arise during the accommodation process.

This workshop is designed for Local Executive members and District Representatives. It is one workshop in the three-part How to Run a Local series: Administration, Finance, and Labour Relations. Please bring your (charged) smartphone and the United Nurses of Alberta mobile app, if possible, or a paper copy of your Collective Agreement.
