UNA hosts CFNU Western Canada Labour School in Calgary

United Nurses of Alberta is proud to host the 2026 CFNU Western Canada Labour School in Calgary on June 8, 9 and 10, 2026.

This biennial education event organized by the four western member organizations of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions brings together nurses from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan to participate in education workshops and hear panel discussion about issues they face in the workplaces and broader challenges facing the health care system.

This year’s school has been designed to help participants build skills in leadership, workplace advocacy, member engagement and political action — which are all important tools for strengthening our unions and supporting nurses in their workplaces.

The event, formally known as the CFNU Prairie Labour School, has changed its name this year to welcome nurses from the British Columbia Nurses' Union to the school. UNA last hosted this labour school in Canmore in 2018.
