Eligible former employees have 90 days to apply for retroactive pay

UNA’s Multi-employer Provincial Collective Agreement was signed on April 15

UNA's current collective agreement was formally signed on April 15, 2026.
 
This date will have important implications for eligible members who have left their employment for any reason in the period before the signing of the agreement.
 
Article 1.03 of the Multi-employer Provincial Collective Agreement states: "An Employee whose employment has terminated prior to the signing of this Collective Agreement is eligible to receive retroactively any increase(s) they would have received but for the termination of employment, upon the submission of a written application to the Employer within 90 calendar days of the signing of the Agreement."
 
Affected former employees, therefore, have only until July 14, 2026, to apply for retroactive pay for which they are eligible.
 
Former Employees of Lamont Health Care Centre
 
Former Employees of Lamont Health Care Centre whose employment terminated after April 1, 2024, may submit a written request for the retroactive payment of any increases they would have received but for the termination of employment. The preferred method for submitting such requests is via email to andrea.hotte@ahs.ca .  All written requests for retroactive increases should include the following information:

·      Employee Legal First and Last Name;
·      Termination Date;
·      Email address; and
·      Phone number in case of a follow up call.
Employees who prefer to send in such requests for retroactive increases via letter may do so by mailing a letter to:

All pay advices and T4’s for former Employees will be mailed to the last address we have recorded on file. Please note if your mailing address or banking information has changed, it is your responsibility to update this by calling: 780-895-2211 and ask for Andrea Hotte.  Bank account and mailing address changes will not be accepted via email or letter; verification of identity is a required condition to process such changes.  
 
Former Employees of Alberta Health Services and Provincial Health Agencies/Corporations
 
Former Employees of Alberta Health Services*, Assisted Living Alberta, Cancer Care Alberta, Emergency Health Services, Give Life Alberta, Health Shared Services, Primary Care Alberta and Recovery Alberta whose employment terminated after April 1, 2024, may submit a written request for the retroactive payment of any increases they would have received but for the termination of employment. The preferred method for submitting such requests is via email to HRSSGeneral@healthsharedservices.ca. All written requests for retroactive increases should include the following information:
 
·      Employee Legal First and Last Name;
·      Employee e-People ID Number; 
·      Termination Date;
·      Email address; and
·      Phone number in case of a follow up call.

*Former AHS Employees who have transferred to a provincial health agency (for example to Recovery Alberta or Primary Care Alberta) are not required to request payment of retroactive increases as long as they remain employed with the new provincial health agency as of the date of ratification.

Former Employees of Covenant Health whose employment terminated after April 1, 2024, may submit a written request for the retroactive payment of any increases they would have received but for the termination of employment. The preferred method for submitting such requests is via email to HRBusinessSupport@covenanthealth.ca . All written requests for retroactive increases should include the following information:

·      Employee name;
·      Employee e-People ID Number; 
·      Termination Date;
·      Banking information if it is changed since the date of termination.

Former Employees of The Bethany Group (Camrose)
 
UNA is still confirming the process with The Bethany Group (Camrose). Updated information about those employers will be published here as soon as it is available.
