UNA members encouraged to enrol in pre-paid benefit program

United Nurses of Alberta members currently not enrolled in their Employer pre-paid benefit program are encouraged to consider entering the program during the open enrolment period from June 13 to June 27, 2025. This applies to UNA members employed by Alberta Health Services, Recovery Alberta, and Primary Care Alberta who have previously opted to not enrol in the benefit program.

Improvements to the benefit program included in the recently ratified Provincial Collective Agreement include changes to coverage for massage therapy and diabetic supplies.

The benefit changes listed in Letter of Understanding #18 RE: Prepaid Benefits of the Provincial Collective Agreement are effective on the first day of the month following 90 days from the date of ratification – this would be August 1, 2025.

The Employer will send a memo and Benefits Change Form to Employees who are eligible to participate. The Benefit Change Form is also available to UNA members.

Covenant Health

The enrolment period for Covenant Healthended on May 16 and benefit changes took effect on June 1. Payroll deductions for UNA members employed by Covenant Health and newly enrolled in the benefit program started on June 11, 2025.
